The First Women's Chess Championship League has started in the northern region of Turkmenistan. 52 chess players from all over the country are taking part in the Tournament. After two rounds, 13 participants are undefeated, reported the press service of the Chess Federation.

Among the favorites are bronze medalist of the World Rapid Championship among girls under 16 Leyla Shohradova, silver medalist of the Asian Championship among schoolchildren Gulmira Seyilhanova and Jennet Durdyeva, who took 6-8 places in last year’s Major League.

According to the results of the tournament, which will end on February 17, four winners will receive a ticket to the final stage - the Major League of the Turkmenistan Championship. There they will meet the four best chess players of last year's Major League season. The decisive matches will be held in Ashgabat from March 3 to 17.

This is the first time a tournament of this level has been held in Dashoguz. It takes place in the classic time control mode and will permit you to determine the strongest chess players to participate in the final part of the national championship.
