At the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis A.Nurberdiyeva received the copies of the credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Turkmenistan Ignacio Ybanez Rubio.
On behalf of the Head of the State, the Leader of National Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment to important diplomatic position and wished him success in the consolidation of the friendship relations and beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Spain.
Having expressed his gratitude for warm words, Ignacio Ybanez Rubio has conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leaders of his country to the Head of the State, plenipotentiary representative of Spain assured that he would put all his efforts and experience for the expansion of Turkmen Spanish cooperation for the sake of both countries and nations.
During the conversation, the diplomat has been introduced to the priorities of internal and foreign policy led by the President of Turkmenistan, which important vector is the establishment of broad international cooperation in the interests of universal peace, security and sustainable development.
Plenipotentiary representative of Spain has been also informed about large-scale national and international programmes and projects implemented in the country.Special emphasis has been laid upon the development of the regions as well as science, education, health protection, sports and tourism.
The Ambassador has been also introduced to the structure and law-making activity of National Parliament.Having highly appraised foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan, Ignacio Ybanez Rubio highlighted that Spain is willing to establish and develop bilateral beneficial relations.
Mutual intent for activation of constructive interstate dialog under competent international organizations like the UN and European Union has been expressed.Trade and economic partnership, cooperation in tourism, fuel and energy complex, water management and use of alternative sources of energy have been highlighted among priority directions.
The importance of the dialog in humanitarian sphere, intensification of scientific and educational contacts, cultural exchanges and cooperation in study and protection of historical and cultural heritage has been mentioned.
The significance of the establishment of inter-Parliamentarian relations has been emphasized. *** On the same day, the delegation of Spain led by Ambassador Ignacio Ybanez Rubio was received in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where the matters of bilateral cooperation have been discussed.
