Establishment of new industrial gas processing branch has been started 20 years ago after the opening of Nayip Gas Processing Complex in Zaaunguz Karakums in the north of Lebap Velayat and Turkmenistan became the exporter of liquefied natural gas.
The complex works on the materials produced at the oldest gas condensate deposits of the country located in Zaunguz region Nayip, Kirpichly, Northern Balguyi and others.Ramified network of gas pipelines runs to the plant.
Nayip Gas Processign Complex has three automatic technological installations, computer centre and other equipment from famous manufacturers of the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy and other countries.Turkmen gas specialists have not only mastered the operation of this complicated equipment but also implemented actual scientific and engineering developments to the production.
For example, modernization of cooling systems and technological processes allowed increasing the production capacity from 112.5 to 135 thousand tons of liquefied gas per year. All production of the facility goes for export.
Contribution of the complex to the improvement of economic power of the country is defined not only by this factor but also by the fact that export oriented light oil products are made from the gas condensate produced during the process, which is shipped to Seydi Refinery by the railway.
These products are highly rated in the world market. For two decades, the gas producers from Nayip supplied more than a million of tons of gas condensate to Seydi Refinery.
Overall reconstruction of the reservoirs of liquefied gas and storage and shipment terminal in Gazachak have been made several years ago according to the Resolution of the Head of the State. It allowed increasing the production capacity almost ten times. Automatic control and shipment systems, new storage tanks, pump station and other infrastructural facilities were opened under the project.
Integrated strategy of diversification of fuel and energy complex stipulates not only the increment of hydrocarbons production but also deep processing based on innovative technologies. Nayip complex gave the start to intensive development of gas processing industry of Turkmenistan, which today is one of the leading in the world by liquefied gas production.
Nowadays, there is another gas processing complex in Lebap Velayat as well, which was opened 10 years ago.It was informed at the IX International Gas Congress in Avaza in May of this year that technical and commercial specifications of new investment projects are planned to be elaborated in the next few month.
It includes the reconstruction of Bagaja Liquefied Gas Complex. It is planned to make petrochemical complex on its base for production of 80 thousand tons of styrene-butadiene rubber and 45 thousand tons of polystyrene per year.
Today, Turkmenistan builds super modern industrial facilities for deep processing of natural gas and gasoline, jet and diesel fuel production with the participation of the leading companies. The opening of such facilities will significantly increase export positions of Turkmenistan on the global energy market.
