20.02.2018 | President of Turkmenistan and CNH Industrial COO discuss prospects for joint investment projects

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received Chief Operating Officer for the Asia Pacific region at CNH Industrial Stefano Pampalone.Grateful for the audience, the guest noted the constructive character of Turkmenistan’s foreign economic cooperation, based on the open door policy.

Stefano Pampalone highlighted that his company is committed to strengthening the effective collaboration with our country, which is known across the world as a reliable and promising partner with the vast resource and economic potential.

Welcoming the businessman, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated with satisfaction that the two countries have been enjoying fruitful long-term bilateral relations.Gradually implementing a strategy for fundamental reforms in the key sectors, our country attaches special significance to the expansion of international cooperation and use of world’s best practices, the nation’s leader said.

In the course of the meeting, the guest familiarized the head of Turkmenistan with new activity fields of CNH Industrial, one of the world’s top leaders that produces and sells commercial vehicles, construction equipment, farm machinery, and special-purpose vehicles.

During an exchange of opinions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the chief operating officer of the company (which has been cooperating with our country for 25 years) considered prospects for joint investment projects in various sectors.

In the context of the large-scale projects ongoing in our country, Stefano Pampalone submitted several proposals with a glance to Turkmenistan’s development priorities and his company’s desire to actively participate in the massive development programs.

One of the essential aspects of Turkmenistan’s development strategy is food security, the President of the country stressed, having mentioned that special emphasis is currently on the restructuring of agriculture and complete modernization of the sector’s facilities, including the provision of new agri-machinery.

There are broad prospects for further cooperation in this particular field, the head of state continued.Alongside with that, training of qualified agricultural specialists at our country’s higher education institutions is seen as hugely important.

A specialized training center, opened at the Turkmen Institute of Agriculture in the city of Dashoguz, boasts all the facilities necessary to teach the skills of operating modern farm equipment to Turkmen students.

The effective and smooth performance of agri-machinery (well adapted to our country’s climatic and soil conditions), its high quality, operational flexibility and reliability are the main requirements that should be met while retooling and employing innovative solutions in the agroindustrial sector, the head of Turkmenistan said.

The businessman emphasized that his company is sincerely proud to be our country’s trusted partner and will continue to take a responsible attitude towards fulfilling its obligations.Closing the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and CNH Industrial Chief Operating Officer Stefano Pampalone expressed confidence in the successful development of bilateral cooperation.
