18.10.2018 | The President of Turkmenistan receives the Minister of Trade and Investments of Saudi Arabia

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Trade and Investments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Majid Bin Abdullah Al Kasabi who arrived in the capital as the head of interstate delegation for participation in the work of the sixth session of Intergovernmental Turkmen Saudi Commission on trade and economic cooperation.

Having expressed the gratitude for the time spared for the meeting and opportunity to discuss actual objectives of interstate cooperation in personal conversation, the guest conveyed warm greetings of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman Al Saud who also addressed sincere wishes of peace, wealth and success to Turkmenistan nation.

Having expressed the gratitude for good words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov passed return wishes to the leaders of Saudi Arabia and highlighted that Turkmenistan pays great attention to consolidation of traditional friendly interstate dialog.

Having noted with delight that recently, the cooperation between two countries gained new quality and content, Turkmen leader stated the presence of significant potential for steadfast improvement of beneficial partnership, which meets mutual interests.

At the same time, the importance of agreements achieved during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May 2016 has been highlighted.

During the meeting, the sides noted the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen Saudi Commission for trade and economic cooperation in further expansion of beneficial business contacts.The Minister of Trade and Investments of friendly state highlighted that favourable conditions have been made for successful joint work.

First of all, these are optimal investment climate and open door’ policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which attracts potential foreign partners to perspective Turkmen market.In this regard, Majid Bin Abdullah Al Kasabi, who is the Co-chairman of the above-mentioned Commission, expressed the confidence that new steps for specification of the cooperation, especially in fuel and energy sector, textile and food industry, banking sphere, mass media, science, culture, sport and tourism, would be made at the current session.

Taking the opportunity, the guest expressed sincere delight with changes in the country that strike imagination as well as congratulated on the opening of big petrochemical complex in Kiyanly for production of polyethylene and polypropylene, which increased export potential of Turkmen economy.

It was highlighted that being recognized world energy states, Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are willing to intensify the cooperation in oil and gas sector.Recently, our country actively elaborates on the objectives of creation of optional system of delivery of the energy carriers to the world markets steadily implementing important energy projects.

Construction of transnational Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India gas line is one of the examples of this.Having noted that Turkmenistan relies on latest achievements of scientific and technical progress in realization of its economic policy attracting leading foreign companies and investments, Turkmen leader proposed the partners from Saudi Arabia to review in details the opportunities of joint projects in the main spheres.

The relevance of regular business meetings and forums supporting the establishment of close contacts between the state and private structures was also highlighted.In the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Trade and Investments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exchanged good wishes.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan Khalid Bin Faisal Al Sahli took part in the meeting.
