18.08.2017 | Turkmenistan Working on Launching Second National Communications Satellite

At the session of the Government of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew the relevant executives’ attention to the expediency of launching the second national communications satellite.According to the head of state, this is necessary to create a modern communication system that will meet high international standards and ensure the quality of information communication.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the personnel of the National Space Agency faces important tasks of advanced professional training and further development of the space sector.Turkmenistan has launched its first national communications satellite, TürkmenÄlem 52˚E, from the American spaceport at Cape Canaveral in April 2015.
