The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the briefing on the work of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association of and the International Association “Türkmen alabaý itleri” (“Turkmen Alabai”).
The meeting brought together core specialists, the heads and representatives of the foreign policy department, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, local and foreign media.
Members of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association and the International Association "Turkmen Alabay" from Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, China, Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan participated in the event via videoconferencing.
Welcoming participants in the meeting, Turkmen specialists focused on the work to preserve the national heritage - Ahalteke horses and Alabai dogs, and underlined the importance of this briefing in terms of improving the activities of the above associations, established on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the Turkmen leader, such international platforms not only bring together experts in horse breeding and cynology based on their professional interest, but also promote developing a dialogue in the cultural and humanitarian sphere between countries and peoples.
The books by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which summarize many years of research, reflections, historical and literary information, reveal the very cultural phenomenon of these national "brands", tell about the role of Alabai dogs and Ahalteke horses in Turkmen people’s life.
Those speaking at the briefing on behalf of the State Association "Türkmen atlary", the International Association "Turkmen Alabai", the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the group of national equestrian games "Galkynysh" of the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan spoke about the measures taken in the country to develop the national horse and dog breeding, to establish modern infrastructure of these areas and training specialists for the industry.
Representative of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association from Germany, director of the Jeýkob Ferdezuçt GBR horse breeding company Catherine-Irene Jacob emphasized the efficiency of long-term cooperation with Turkmen colleagues.
Irina Stashevskaya, a member of the International Association "Turkmen Alabai", representing the Union of Cynological Organizations of Russia underlined the uniqueness and ancient origin of this dog breed and shared proposals for cooperation.
Those speaking during the meeting highlighted the noble mission of the associations that united high-class horse breeders, dog handlers, scientists, fans of the famous Turkmen horses and Alabai dogs, and underlined the ways to solve the problems of popularizing these breeds in the world.
It was noted that the preservation of the Ahalteke horses and Turkmen Alabai dogs inherited from our ancestors is our duty to history and descendants.
