In the framework of the official visit to the State of Kuwait, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Arabian Horse Centre and Dar Al Athar Al Islamiya Museum.
Granddaughter of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Chief Director of the Arabian Horse Centre, Sheikha Sarah Al Fahad Al Sabah greeted the President of Turkmenistan in the Centre.
The Turkmen leader visited the library, where over 800 books on the horse breeding history in Kuwait and other countries of the world, about the Arabian horses and other horse breeds are kept.
Moreover, various cups and other valuable gifts, won by the Arabian horses at the prestigious international contests, are showcased in the library.The books dedicated to the work of the Centre and the history of the Arabian horses were presented to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Then, the elite Arabian horses were demonstrated to the Turkmen leader.According to historical information, Ahalteke and Arabian horses have common ancestors.Speaking with Sarah Al Fahad Al Sabah, the President of Turkmenistan demonstrated the interest in the equipment of the complex, the horse breeding conditions and the various aspects of the Centre activities.
The President of Turkmenistan told about the ancient horse breeding traditions of the Turkmen people, who presented Ahalteke horses to the world.It was emphasized the identity of positions of the two countries with respect to the development of equestrian sports, which makes the partnership in this area one of the promising areas of bilateral cooperation.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented his books dedicated to the legendary heavenly’ horses, and the history of the world-famous horse breed to Sheikha Sarah Al Fahad Al Sabah.The works by the President of Turkmenistan summarize the long-term studies, thoughts, historical and literary information on this topic.
Then, the Turkmen leader was requested to give name to a foal.The President of Turkmenistan noted that the name Dostjan would express the foal’s friendly character, and would become the symbol of the fraternal relations between our peoples.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Sheikha Sarah Al Fahad Al Sabah for the interesting presentation and invited her to visit Turkmenistan and attend the festivities on occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day.
The Turkmen leader also suggested Sheikha Sarah Al Fahad Al Sabah to give name to one of the Ahalteke foals.President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also visited the Dar Al Athar Al Islamiya Museum, one of the main sites of the capital of Kuwait.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasser Bin Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his spouse - Sheikha Hussah Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, the Director General of the Dar Al Athar Al Islamiya Museum greeted the President of Turkmenistan at the main entrance to the museum.
The President of Turkmenistan got acquainted with the history of the museum, which is remarkable for its collection of archeological findings and the ethnographic exposition that is considered as one of the best collections of the Islamic Art in the world.
The exhibits of great rarity telling about the history of Turkmenistan, in particular the Ancient Margush and the Parthian Empire were demonstrated to the President of Turkmenistan.The Turkmen leader gifted the photocopies of a number of books from the National Institute of Manuscripts to the museum.
Each of these unique works by medieval authors tells about the history of the Turkmen people and the Turkmen states, once located in the territory of modern Arab countries, as well as the relations with the peoples, living along the Great Silk Road.
Sheikha Hussah Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah presented the book about Ancient Margiana to the Turkmen leader.Completing the visit to the State of Kuwait, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left the Al Kuwait International Airport for the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
