The intra-Afghan peace talks held in Doha, Qatar brought together the heads of foreign policy agencies of about 30 countries, representatives of international organizations and the Taliban movement.
The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov took part in the opening ceremony of the meeting online.
Addressing the meeting particpants, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country noted that Turkmenistan supported the peace process in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which is aimed at ensuring regional security and stability.
As emphasized, Turkmenistan has always stood for resolving the issues exclusively by political and diplomatic methods and was ready to assist the negotiation process, including by providing political space.
Speaking during the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of socio-economic stabilization and regional integration of Afghanistan, the participation of the IRA in the implementation of large infrastructure projects, in particular in the sphere of energy, transport, communications and industry.
In this regard, the role of the international projects TAPI and TAP initiated by our country was underlined, as well as the assistance provided in the development of railway communication and humanitarian support.
It was noted at the meeting that Turkmenistan is ready to cooperate with partner countries and international organizations in the process of establishing lasting peace, stability and economic growth in the region.
