11 people died when a bridge collapsed in northwest China

In northwest China's Shaanxi province, part of a road bridge collapsed, as a result of which 11 people died. According to “Xinhua”, the incident was caused by heavy rains and floods.

Rescuers found five cars that had fallen into the river. The rescue operation continues. It is preliminary reported that about 20 cars and more than 30 people were missing.

In response to the situation, the State Disaster Prevention Committee has placed the province on a level four emergency response and dispatched a working group to assist local authorities. According to the forecast, heavy rains in the region will continue until July 21.
