11.02.2019 | Turkmenistan-Malaysia: cooperation in the oil and gas sphere

The meeting with the delegation of the international company Petronas (Malaysia), headed by EVP, CEO, Mr.Datuk Mohd Anuar Bin Taib, took place in the administrative building of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan.

A number of proposals on the further development of partnership with Turkmenistan were presented during the meeting.It was noted that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov carries out the open-door’ policy, paying particular attention to the attraction of foreign investments into the national economy and expansion of relations with foreign partners, in particular the enhancement of the Turkmen-Malaysian partnership in the natural gas production.

Mr.Datuk Mohd Anuar Bin Taib emphasized that Petronas that was proud of the partnership with Turkmenistan productively cooperated with the relevant agencies of the country.The guest noted that the richest oil and gas deposits in Turkmenistan opened up wide opportunities for investments and productive cooperation and expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the attention he paid to the collaboration with Petronas.

Mr.Datuk Mohd Anuar Bin Taib expressed the willingness to offer the most advanced and highly efficient technologies in the sphere of the exploration and development of the difficult-to-reach offshore and onshore gas deposits.

In this regard, the representatives of the company focused on the possibilities to extend the agreements with Turkmenistan and expressed the interest in the partnership in the petrochemical industry.

It was underlined that aspiration to build up cooperation on the production of polyethylene and polypropene at the modern complex in Kiyanly.It was underlined that one of the important areas of cooperation with foreign investors was the development of the gas processing industry, aimed at the production of high-quality export-oriented goods.

It is planned to implement a number of projects on the creation of new plants on the production of gas chemical products, including linear low density polyethylene, polypropene, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl chloride, methanol, liquid chlorine and sodium sulfate, in our country in the near future.

The parties discussed the other areas of the mutually beneficial partnership in the context of the fuel and energy policy of Turkmenistan.
