President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the issues of the state economic and social policy.Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G.Myradov reported on the results of the preparatory work on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Programme, adopted by the UN member-states in Turkmenistan.
The draft document outlines the main tasks set to the government agencies, the velayat and Ashgabat Hyakimliks, as well as other institutions on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Having identified a number of key tasks for the near future in this area, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to draft the relevant Resolution.Then, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted the proposals on the objects and facilities subject to privatization, as well as the enterprises for denationalization to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.
The Turkmen leader noted that privatization was aimed at further enhancing the competitiveness of the economy, increasing the efficiency and profitability of industrial production, as well as the dynamic development of private entrepreneurship.
The Vice-Premier reported on the measures taken in the context of the anti-corruption programme.In particular, it was reported that it was proposed to draft the legislative acts on the amnesty of capitals and property, as well as to amend the existing legal and regulatory documents based on the best practices of foreign countries.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers O.Gurbannazarov submitted the draft plan of the exhibitions, fairs, conferences and festivals to be organized by ministries and departments in 2018 for the consideration of the President of Turkmenistan.
Approving the Resolution "On organizing the exhibitions, fairs, conferences and festivals by ministries and departments in 2018", the President of Turkmenistan gave instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister to organize these event, aimed at increasing the prestige and authority of the country as an international business centre and offering a powerful impetus to cooperation.

The Deputy Prime Minister reported on the outcomes of the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Riyadh with the participation of the leaders of the industry and energy sector and large companies of Saudi Arabia.
The members of the Turkmen delegation considered the main areas of bilateral cooperation, the joint work on the implementation of the agreements, achieved during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in May 2016, during a number of meetings with their Saudi counterparts.
The talks and meetings in Riyadh opened up wide opportunities for making important decisions on attracting Saudi investments in international and national projects in the oil and gas sector, extracting mineral resources, developing communications, etc.

A number of documents were signed at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission.Another topic that was discussed during the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Saudi Arabia was the organization of events on bringing Turkmen carpets and carpet articles to the Saudi market and through it to the markets of other Arab countries.
The possibility of investment projects in the carpet industry of Turkmenistan was also considered.The Saudi side proposed to organize the exhibition of Turkmen carpets in Riyadh and to establish a working group on this issue.
Highly evaluating the constructive character of the fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Saudi commission and the meetings and negotiations between the members of the Turkmen delegation and their Saudi colleagues that resuled in taking a number of important decisions, the President gave a number of instructions on their practical implementation.
Focusing on the development of cooperation with the countries of the Middle East, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expressed with satisfaction the effectiveness of the talks held during the working visit of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov to the State of Kuwait.
Within the framework of the bilateral meetings and negotiations, the representatives of the State of Kuwait expressed the interest in expanding the fruitful interstate partnership, including in such promising areas as the trade and economic sphere, the energy sector, the formation of modern infrastructure, etc., as well as in participating in the implementation of the ambitious investment projects, initiated by Turkmenistan.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E.Orazgeldiev reported on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural campaigns.The Vice Prime Minister also reported on the results of the official trip to Tashkent (the Republic of Uzbekistan) taken on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan.
It was noted that the agricultural issues were discussed during the meetings in Tashkent.Emphasizing that great attention in our country is paid to the strategic cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that there are a number of directions between our states to share experience, including the agro-industrial complex.
In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to the Vice Premier on the introduction of the best practices of foreign countries to improve the agricultural sector.Deputy Chairman M.Aydogdyev reported on the progress of construction of the cotton-spinning factory in the Saparmurat Turkmenbashi etrap in Dashoguz Velayat.
As was noted, in order to implement the "Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the socio-economic development of the country for 2018-2024", according to the results of the tender, the design, construction and equipping of the new textile industry facility was entrusted to the Hilli Yup Economic Entity.
The new cotton spinning factory will produce 6,000 tons of cotton yarn annually.Focusing on the importance of building new industrial facilities for the economic development of regions, where new jobs will be created, the President emphasized the importance to ensre the proper control on the work in this direction.
Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers D.Amangeldiev reported on the increase in the volume of Turkmen electricity supplied to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.Commenting on the report and focusing on the Turkmen-Afghan relations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that supporting the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan, Turkmenistan significatly contributed to the efforts of the international community in this direction and provided support in the social and economic revival of the neighbouring state.
The President instructed the relevant officials to keep the progress of the ongoing works on the systematic increase in the volumes of Turkmen electricity supplied to Afghanistan under the rigorous control.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers V.Annameredov reported on the current situation in the ministries and departments under his supervision.Summarizing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the programmes on the development of transport and communications sectors adopted in our country.
The Turkmen leader focused on the importance of using new technologies and exchanging experience and useful innovative developments with foreign partners, as well as gave special instructions to the Vice Premier in this regard.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A.Nurberdiyeva reported on the work of the Parliament on improving the national legislative framework, as well as the Laws of Turkmenistan adopted at the 24th session of the Mejlis of the fifth convocation on November 4.
As it was noted, during the regular session, the parliamentarians unanimously approved and adopted a number of laws and resolutions of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, including the draft laws of Turkmenistan "On the Legal Protection of Inventions" and "On the Legal Protection of Industrial Designs".
Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the necessity to intensify the work of the parliament on improving the national legislative base in the interests of dynamical movement of Turkmenistan along the way of social, economic and democratic reforms.
