President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received PJSC LUKOIL President and CEO Vagit Alekperov.Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest reaffirmed the interest of the largest Russian company in building up cooperation with our country and implementing mutually beneficial joint projects.
Emphasizing that Turkmenistan is always open for efficient cooperation with foreign partners, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the traditionally friendly, constructive character of the Turkmen-Russian relations.
The President of Turkmenistan and PJSC LUKOIL President and CEO exchanged views on the prospects of partnership given the existing potential and the plans for its implementation.Particular attention was paid to such key factors as the energy strategy of our country, diversification of energy resources supplies to the world markets, increase of capacities of the production and processing segment, development of the gas-, oil- and chemical industry as well as production of high-technology products.
As noted, large-scale programmes implemented in Turkmenistan are aimed at industrialization and digitalization of the national economy, progressive scientific and technological progress, as well as major infrastructure projects of regional and international importance, open up wide opportunities for successful cooperation.
During the conversation, the businessman briefed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on LUKOIL's activities in the field of development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Caspian Sea.According to the businessman, Turkmenistan has established a favorable investment climate and the relevant legal framework, which allows effectively investing into the development of oil and gas fields, construction of infrastructure.
Therefore, LUKOIL is interested in implementing projects in these areas.Welcoming the initiatives of the Russian partners, the President of Turkmenistan suggested that the both sides work out the existing proposals together with the "Türkmennebit" and "Türkmengaz” State Concerns and submit them for consideration.
At the end of the meeting, the President and his guest confirmed the willingness of Turkmenistan to develop long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with LUKOIL.
