A Culture Center in Dusti district, Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan has hosted a presentation of the book authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Silk Road”.
Timed to coincide with the official visit by the Turkmen leader to the friendly country, it was attended by our country’s delegation, representatives of local authorities, the Turkmen community and the media.
Published ahead of the 26th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, the new book by the head of state is deeply imbued with the idea of strengthening cultural-humanitarian ties, relations of friendship and understanding among countries and nations.
The Silk Road that linked scores of countries together through trade, information and cultural contacts, is seen in the context of history and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen nation.
The head of state explains in the Preface to the Reader that “the Turkmen played one of the fundamental roles in establishing and operating the Silk Road, whose every trade route could be a worthy addition to the UNESCO World Heritage List”.
Event attendees highlighted the present-day scientific and practical importance of the book “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Silk Road”, published in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages and intended for the general reader.
The President-authored book offers the possibility to objectively evaluate the history of the Turkmen, to familiarize foreign readers with their national and cultural identity, traditions, customs and guiding principles, to fully recognize the Turkmen nation’s invaluable contribution to the global scientific, economic and cultural progress, speakers stated during the presentation.
The participants were presented with copies of the book “Turkmenistan the Heart of the Silk Road” authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.
