The Draft Law of Turkmenistan on Prevention of Harmful Impact of Alcohol has been brought out for discussion at the fourth session of the Mejlis of the sixth convocation.
The participants highlighted that care of health and wealth of the people and every citizen of the country is an unconditional priority of the Government policy.propaganda of healthy life style and sports, awareness of the population on harmful effect of bad habits are important aspects of the work in this direction.
Activities for control of tobacco smoking involving all structures including medical and educational facilities, public organizations as well as clergy and mass media are carried out on permanent basis and give positive results.
In this context the Law of Turkmenistan, which defines legal, organizational and economic bases of the state policy in prevention of harmful impact of alcohol and is aimed at the protection of health of the citizens and assertion of the principles of healthy life style in the society, is very important.
The document also defines the complex of legal, economic, organizational, sanitary and health improving, treatment and prevention, social and other measures aimed at the regulation of production, restriction of sale, advertisement of alcohol, protection and improvement of health of human, prevention of diseases and crimes occurring in relation with alcohol abuse, improvement of education, medical and sanitary work among the citizens especially among the people who did not reach 21 years, support of development of physical culture and sports.
The deputies have also reviewed the draft Laws on Amendments and Addendums of the Code of Turkmenistan on Administrative Violations, on Amendments and Addendums of the Tax Code of Turkmenistan, on Amendments and Addendums of the Law of Turkmenistan on Trade Activity, on Amendments and Addendums of Certain Legal Acts of Turkmenistan, on Amendments and Addendums of the Drinking Water Code of Turkmenistan, on Amendments and Addendums of the Land Code of Turkmenistan.
Draft legal acts that were brought out for review at the session of the Mejlis have been unanimously agreed and adopted.
